Bryan started his music career in the Boston where he spent his time recording bands in his college dorm at Northeaster University. It was there, in local folk clubs, that he met his wife Sarah. The two fell in love and ran away to Los Angeles to start their much celebrated folk/duo the Well Pennies. Over the next few years, the pair released an EP and a full length album that was met with acclaim from Billboard Magazine, NYLON, RollingStone and many more, and earned them over 25 million plays online. They tour extensively all over the US performing in small coffeeshops, large theaters, alongside Youth Orchestras and also opening for Diana Krall as part of her "Turn up the Quiet World Tour" this past Summer.
Intending to build a recording studio away from the chaos of Los Angeles, Bryan and Sarah moved to Des Moines in 2016 and happily adjusted to mid-west living. "Des Moines is the perfect place to record music. The wide open sky and slower pace of life offers easier access to creativity without the pressures and the desperation of the music business."
Bryan has engineered, produced and performed on dozens of recordings, from full band sessions, to voiceovers for TV and film and even podcasts. He can currently be found trying to create latte art with his espresso machine.
Sarah grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and from an early age was obsessed with the music and pop culture of the 50s. It was listening to doo-wop legends of the time that she learned how to harmonize and write songs. She was writing the moment she was big enough to reach the piano keys and she hasn’t stopped since.
After recording a solo LP, Sarah moved to Boston and began performing around the legendary folk music scene. It was there that she met her husband and the two began performing and writing music together that would eventually become The Well Pennies which has gone onto critical acclaim, nationwide tours, and award winning projects.
In addition to The Well Pennies music, Sarah spearheads “Vinter Boom”, an art/music project that focuses on creating music and visuals for children and adults struggling with anxiety, as well as guided meditation, sleep aides and bedtime stories.
