Bryan Vanderpool - Producer/Engineer

Bryan started his music career in Boston, where he spent his time recording bands in his college dorm at Northeastern University. In 2012, he started the much-celebrated folk duo The Well Pennies, releasing four albums that were met with acclaim from Billboard Magazine, NPR, No Depression, Rolling Stone, and many others, earning over 50 million plays online. After extensively touring across the U.S., performing with orchestras, and opening for some of the country’s biggest acts, Bryan’s production career—sort of—got out of hand.

Intending to build a recording studio away from the chaos of Los Angeles, he relocated to Des Moines, IA. “Des Moines is the perfect place to record music. The central location and slower pace of life offer easier access to creativity without the pressures and desperation of the music business.”

Blake Van Houten - Producer/Engineer

Blake has been an Iowa native his whole life. After picking up a guitar in his early teen years he’s been obsessed with music ever since. “It’s been the one consistent throughout my life.” he says.

After a couple years studying design at Iowa State University he realized music was really all he could see himself doing for the long haul. He finished his time at university and immediately moved to Des Moines and found his way into a community of musicians and artists.

During that time he discovered recording and production and fell in love with this new side of music he had never experienced before. A pivotal experience was his first time in the studio. “Seeing a track go from a voice memo to a radio ready song is addicting, it’s like a drug.”

Now he spends his time wearing multiple hats as a studio musician, engineer and producer. You might also find him also gigging out and running live sound occasionally.

Allie Crummy - Producer/Engineer

Allie is a prolific songwriter and classically trained vocalist with a degree in Music Education from Drake University. She has released four albums and three EPs, and her music has been streamed hundreds of thousands of times on Spotify. She plays for audiences both small and large — from the brewery down the street, to opening for national acts like Ellie Holcomb, Seph Schleuter, and Casting Crowns. 

As a lifelong musician, Allie has always loved how music marries the left and right sides of her brain. Her bent toward seeing music through an architectural lens, like in music theory, translates well into audio engineering; and her love of creative expression in songwriting feels right at home in coming up with arrangement and production ideas.

In addition to singing, songwriting, and producing, Allie is also a vocal coach. She is passionate about helping people sing the best they can, in any style or genre; especially when they’re in the recording booth
